What is the opportunity?
• The customer is looking for a data engineer to operationalize the data integration and management process – to ingest data from numerous data sources and apply transformations for data quality and insights. The data engineer will work closely with the business users, project managers, technical teams like database engineers and source system data owners to develop data pipelines to automate data acquisition and cleansing, to sustain analytics and AI initiatives.
• The role requires the ability to translate business and technical requirements into data interfaces, data transformation jobs and design data models that powers self-service analytics or AI projects. To support this, you may also need to establish data management processes such as data governance, data cataloguing, security/privacy classification and advise our clients on the collection, storage and consumption of information in their organizations.
What will you do?
• Design and implement relevant data models in the form of data marts stored in Operational Data Stores, Data Warehouses or Big Data platforms
• Build data pipelines to bring information from source systems, harmonise and cleanse data to support analytics initiatives for core business metrics and performance trends.
• Perform data profiling to understand data quality and advise practical measures to address such data issues through data transformation and data loading
Overview:
Responsible for delivering dataset development projects, including data collection and data annotation.
• Drive direction to dataset development team and stakeholders throughout the project and manage scope & requirements.
• Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product. Team normally comprises of dataset requester’s team members, member of Data team, vendors and/or contractors.
• Define data product roadmap and growth opportunities.
• Prioritize tasks to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
• Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
• Work closely with data requester to create and maintain a data product backlog according to business value or ROI.
• Lead the data release plans and set the expectation for delivery of dataset and sub-sets.
• Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release goal.
• Keep abreast with Agile best practices and new trends.
Requirement:
• Experienced in dataset development projects: image, video, speech audio, text, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles. Though having Agile mindset, still need to have strong process-based mindset, with ability to control work process.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
• Creative thinker with a vision, always have clear direction to solve problems and optimize work activities
• Attention to details
• Good to have: knowledge in data science and AI training
