Job Description
Forward Deployed Engineers are at the core of design, build and roll-out of value-driven digital applications. They are a technical profile part of the core team alongside the deployment strategist. They are deployed to be as close to the customer as possible. They convert problem discovery into valuable applications through writing code. They have strong problem solving skills, broad knowledge in digital technology and specialization in a given field – in this instance the specialization is for Applied Analytics / Data Science
While no 2 days are the same in this role the expected activities at the different stages of a customer engagement would be:
• Lead problem discovery and value identification on-site with the customer
• Strategies and iterate through different ways in which the presented problem could be solved.
• Build data end to end workflows, including cleaning, wrangling, analytics, machine learning, visualizations.
• Lead the technical implementation of each project, converting product vision and customer needs into development tasks
• Strong value focus across all activities, ensure at all times that the solution being built will drive value metrics.
• Roll-out project with end-users, collect feedback and bugs.
Job Qualification
Analytics / Data Science Skills:
• Experience in operating within Agile software development (e.g. Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) as developer role.
• Strong programming skills in Python particularly for data science applications and workflows ~5+ year experience.
• Data wrangling and modelling experience: good knowledge of how to create data pipelines, integrating multiple sources of structured and unstructured data, perform feature engineering to fuel downstream analyses and visualizations. Experience in using: Pandas, SQL, NoSQL, PySpark, RegEx,
• Statistics: Experience of applying statistical methods to real-world projects
• Traditional Machine Learning: Experience in implementing supervised and unsupervised methods. Experience with SciKit Learn (SKlearn) or similar packages
• Data Visualization: Experience in building compelling data visualizations. Experience in using packages like: Matplotlib, ggplot, bokeh, plotly, dash. And using dashboarding tools like: spotfire, tableau, PowerBI,
• Deep Learning [Nice-to-have]: Knowledge and correct application of different Neural Networks architectures: fully connected, convolutional, recurrent, LSTMs, Deep-Q etc., Experience with using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Further Advanced Analytics Specializations [Nice-to-have]: Optimization methods (convex, linear, non-linear, genetic, multi-modal, multi-factor, etc), Timeseries analyses (signal processing, spectral analyses, time-warping, Kalman-filtering, FFTs, time-series feature engineering, etc.)
Additional Skills:
• Experience in client facing technical interactions such as leading user-interviews for user-story & feature collection, running technical workshops with customer, performing demos, and user-onboarding.
• Strong communication skills in particular in front of customers
• Problem discovery: Experience in turning loose specifications and open-ended problems into pin-pointed qualitative and quantitative problem statements.
• Fluency in English
