Linux Kernel SW Engineer – Up to $2500

Job Description

Job Overview
• Our customer is one of the “Big Three” automakers in North America. Participating in this project, you will have chance to work with all aspects of a best-in-class infotainment system. You also can work with top talented engineers as well as with various technologies.

Key Role Responsibilities
• Optimize Linux/QNX Startup, kernel drivers.
• Trouble shoot critical issues with Linux/QNX OS and system services, C and C++.
• Participate in system design, documentation, and testing to deliver a best-in-class infotainment system

Job Qualifications
• Knowledge in Linux kernel, device drivers, and networking
• Experience in C/C++ and Python.
• Expertise in Linux Kernel structure and experience developing kernel modules.
• Experience developing packet-level logic with an understanding of transport and application layer protocols.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix, security models.
• Experience with unit-testing and mock frameworks
• Can communicate in English basically

Nice to have:
• Experience in OOP, knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with Service Layers of Android
• Multi-process, multi-tasking or multi-threaded based applications
• Embedded operating systems (Linux, QNX, or Android)
• Automotive product development process and quality experience (i.e., A-SPICE, CMMI, FMEA, etc.)
• Experience with communication protocols: CAN, TCP/IP, USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and/or Wi-Fi
• Proficiency with source control management such as Git, Repo, Gerrit or equivalent
• Understanding CI/CD (such as Jenkin)
• Familiarity with Agile development processes
