Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Technical Product Owner to define and drive delivery of APIs across the region
- Understand the landscape of API requirements from external partners in the countries covered (Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong)
- Execute upon a defined roadmap of API and microservice delivery
- Engage with stakeholders and groom user stories
- Assist Technical Product Owner with low-level requirements gathering and documentation
- Work with local IT teams to understand existing systems and work with these teams on ensuring the systems offer services and stored procedures needed by APIs
- Work with business partners to understand proposed APIs and to explain the effort of different connections and integrations
- Work with an assigned Scrum Team to provide delivery of working software that provides value to the business every 2 weeks
- Dive deep into solutions and requirements proposed by the business and provide alternative solutions for the business to consider
- Work with the development team Scrum Master to identify and remove impediments that come up during the sprint process
- Find way to optimize our way of working by offering and implementing solutions for continuous improvement
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analysis and Solution Definition
- Become a subject matter expert in the individual APIs you work to define and deliver, along with their contracts and corresponding integrations
- Assist the Technical Product Owner with managing the sprints
- Prepare and groom user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams based on discussion and negotiation with the business
- Drive this cross-country initiative with stakeholders from across the business and IT
2. Ensure Quality
- Work with developers to ensure their solution design can satisfy user stories and acceptance criteria
- Ensure acceptance criteria and any other test conditions are met before concluding a story is complete
- Ensure that clear testing plans have been documented and executed before releasing software
- Work with development team to ensure automated testing is baked into solutions
- Identify and document system deficiencies and recommended solutions
3. Project Support & Change Management
- Follow-up with and push relevant parties to ensure that work is completed on agreed-upon schedule
- Track deliverables and resolve issues that are negatively impacting timeline of delivery
- Ensure Agile practices are followed by development teams
- Ensure proper communication is conducted when system changes are made by keeping relevant stakeholders informed
4. Other Duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related fields
- 4+ years of experience in IT or a Digital Product organization
- Strong business analysis skills
- Experience and knowledge of Scrum/Agile or Kanban methodologies
- Experience in API development and API strategy. Major plus if have worked on and/or managed API rollout strategies previously. Especially for an Insurance company.
- Ability to effectively and proactively interact and communicate with senior management, internal departments, clients, and vendors
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- General insurance industry background and knowledge is preferable but not required
