Map4D displays many famous Vietnamese attractions in detailed under 3D images, and allows real-time updates of the weather and directions.

The virtual map Map4D was created by Vietnamese engineers, with the support from Microsoft tech experts. The map’s interface resembles Google Maps, and thus users will not take to much time to familiarize themselves with the display.

Map4D is special in that users can see directions, explore destinations, and see weathers in real time. The map is current in its demo phrase, and therefore only specific attractions are stimulated in 3D forms.

Real experience on both the web and app versions show good displays on Map4D, detailed road descriptions, and smooth, unlagged zoom and flip motions, with the mobile version bringing a better experience. The app is also accurate in navigation, compared to similar tools from Google and Apple.

The app also allows QR scanning, which can be used on Vpostcode, issued by Vietnam Post at the beginning of May. This function is extremely useful for addresses lacking details like house numbers and street names. Up to May 7, there have been over 23 million addresses across Vietnam attached with Vpostcodes. In these cases, Map4D users will only need to scan the QR to easily find their way to these digitalized addresses.

The map also allows real-time updates on the weather. This 3D image portrays Ho Chi Minh City with a light drizzle on the afternoon of June 4.

However, Map4D is still struggling with suggestions. For example, when search with the keyword “Hue Imperial Citadel” or “Hue Old Capital”, the app will still give suggestions of restaurants and companies. Google, on the other hand, will immediately provide search results of the correct Hue Imperial Citadel, with 3D images, the current weather, overviews, and average prices of nearby 5-star hotels, alongside basic location information. Furthermore, at the 3D setting, Map4D’s maximum zoom level is only at 17, and for a wider view, users will need to change back to the 2D setting.

The application is current still under completion. Users can however, still try it on Map4d.vn or download it on App Store or CH Play.
